Nixon Property Developers Meeting

This is to alert you to a meeting in regards to the planned use of the Nixon property that was recently sold to a developer. The information underlined below is from the City and is notice the developer will hold a public information meeting. The developer will also be sending out a post card to all Arbor Hills residents that are within a 1,000 feet of the planned development.
Bleznak Real Estate, developers, have scheduled a citizen participation meeting for Tuesday, June 25, 2013, 7:00 pm at the Traverwood Branch Library, 3333 Traverwood Drive, to present their new apartment proposal for a 53-acre parcel at the southeast corner of Nixon Road and M-14. The Nixon Road Apartments project proposes 294 apartments in 5 buildings on a 15-acre portion of the site. The project would be built in 2 phases.
Why should Arbor Hills residents have a concern and an interest in this development? There are many ways that we could be impacted.
  • There will be 294 apartments that will need utilities such as water, will 294 additional households cause a decrease in the water pressure supplied to Arbor Hills? For those of you that were living here before the new water tower was built, you can remember the very low water pressure we had in our homes.
  • Will there be a nature area buffer between the new development and the homes along the Northwest edge of our Association?
  • Will the developer or the City try put in a connector road from the new development to our community? This would increase traffic on our private roads.
This meeting is an opportunity for Arbor Hills residents to ask the developers questions and express any concerns.
